Paver Patios Across the Greater Madison Area
A paver patio is only as good as the base beneath it, and in Wisconsin, that means proper excavation and a deeply compacted aggregate base that won't heave through freeze-thaw. We install paver and natural-stone patios for homes and businesses throughout the greater Madison area, and can pair your patio with retaining walls, walkways, fire pits, and landscape lighting for a complete outdoor living space.

Paver Patio FAQ
Pavers or poured concrete, which is better in Wisconsin?
For our freeze-thaw climate, pavers have a real edge. A poured slab is rigid, so when the ground heaves it tends to crack, and a cracked slab is a repair-and-replace job. Pavers are a flexible system: they move with the ground as a unit, won't show a single ugly crack, and if a section ever settles we can lift and reset just those pavers. They also give you far more color and pattern options.
Will the pavers shift, settle, or heave over time?
Not when they're installed correctly, and that's the whole game. We excavate deep, build a thick compacted aggregate base, and lock everything in with edge restraint and polymeric joint sand. That base is what resists frost heave through our winters. A patio that shifts is almost always one that was built on too little base; we don't cut that corner.
How long do paver patios last?
Decades, generations, really, with proper installation. And because it's a modular system, the occasional repair is simple: lift the affected pavers, fix the base, and reset them, with no visible patch.
How much maintenance do they need?
Very little, occasional sweeping and a rinse, and re-sanding the joints every few years. Polymeric joint sand keeps weeds and ants out of the joints. Sealing is optional; it deepens the color and makes cleanup easier, and we're happy to do it.
Can the patio match my home?
Yes, we tailor materials, colors, and laying patterns to complement your home's architecture and tie into existing hardscape. We'll lay out options so you can see how it all works together before we build.
How long does a patio take to build?
Most residential patios run a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on size, access, and any steps, walls, or fire features tied in. The base work takes time to do right, and that's exactly where a patio's longevity is won.
What areas do you serve for paver patios?
